Take An Electrifying Look Inside The World's First Light Art Museum

The Creators Project: For the first time, the Centre for International Light Art Unna, is launching the first annual International Light Art Award 2015, which will light up the life of a young artist each year. The artistic competition strives to promote artists working within the field of light art, offerring a first place prize of $13,500, and three other awards for other worthy candidates.

In a way, every single light bulb we install is a form of light art. It illuminates a room, but it's in the position we chose and, with any hope, it will only light up exactly what we want it to. However, in the public domain, light art is not a well-known form of expression. The Centre for International Light Art Unna hopes to change this dreary fact and light up an otherwise dark art form. By incentivizing young artists with a $13,500 first prize and 3 smaller consolations, it is easier than ever for electricians to get up, get active, and create some art. The museum itself is like a "greatest hits" of the lighting world, taking visitors through all different forms of light and various, new ways to use them. The future is really looking bright for light art, if you can find your way through the dark annals of Germany.
