Variety: Prosecutors in Georgia have charged “Midnight Rider” filmmakers Randall Miller, Jody Savin and Jay Sedrish with involuntary manslaughter and criminal trespassing in the Feb. 20 death of 27-year old camera assistant Sarah Jones.
The 27-year-old Jones was killed on a train track on the first day of filming “Midnight Rider” and seven other crew members were injured.

I know I may be talking this issue to death, but I really really do not understand why the train company is being sued here. As I learned from a previous article, CSX get saddled with the most amount of the settlement to pay (38%), even though they were the only company to not give permission to film on the tracks, as it was a safety concern. I was talking to a peer about this event and his opinion that the parents of Sarah Jones suing the landowning company that the tracks are on was even going too far. I am not sure about that, but I do thnk that the prosecution could have been a bit more picky on who they chose to sue. I really just can not get over this company having to pay so much money on something that was not their fault. Their only fault was that their trains was running on the track according to their schedule.
