Millennials would spend tax refund on electronics, clothes, Carnegie Mellon University survey says

Pittsburgh Business Times: Tax refunds are another sign of spring and the Integrated Innovation Institute at Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Mellon University surveyed 2,000 millennials, asking how they’d use a $1,000 check from the IRS.

Yet another example of "let's throw those lazy, entitled, wasteful millenials under the bus!". I'd be interested to know what people from other generations would've answered to that question. Maybe they would've said the exact same thing, or maybe they would've mentioned more useful, responsible spending. Who knows? The point is, how useful is this type of information if it's not placed in context and compared to other statistics? The article is purely composed of facts, no analysis, nothing. I'd like to know if millennials are the outliers or the norm here.
