Appeals Court Denies SeaWorld’s Attempt To Overturn OSHA Violation
Consumerist: The main reason that people nominated and voted for SeaWorld in our recently concluded Worst Company In America tournament was the controversy — highlighted in the documentary Blackfish — over its treatment of orca whales and, more precisely, the multiple deaths that have been tied to one particular whale. SeaWorld has been fighting workplace safety citations issued following the 2010 death of a trainer, but today a federal appeals court ruled against the park.

I feel very passionately about this subject. Before watching the "Blackfish" documentary, I had no idea how terrible the treatment of both trainers and whales were at SeaWorld. After watching the film, I was completely disgusted. Although this particular article only deals with the issue of human treatment, the animal treatment is another thing to be considered here. The reason why some of these whales become violent is because they are being forced to live in an unnatural environment. I really hope SeaWorld changes its policies with both their expectations for their trainers and their treatment of whales and other animals. SeaWorld has some very dark practices that are not fortunately exposed to the public, and will hopefully soon be fixed.
This article caught my eye and its funny that it relates to the documentary called Black Fish. I had casually stumbles across this documentary thinking it would be a fun watch when I soon found at that there was a sad and horrible manner at hand. The treatment of these animals is completely immoral and needs to be put to a stop. Although I can't help but feel disgust when thinking about all of the other animals in zoos. I am mistreatment of animals does not only come from sea world. This subject needs to be spread globally instead of in one specific region.
