What Has Vampire Diaries Executive Producer Julie Plec "Disgusted and Fuming"?
The Vampire Diaries | Wetpaint: Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec is expressing outrage on Twitter when news broke that production will go ahead on Midnight Rider. Production on the Gregg Allman biopic was suspended in February after 27-year-old crew member Sarah Jones was struck by a train and killed on set. Sarah had previously been a part of the TVD crew, and her death shocked and saddened not only those who knew and worked with her, but the entire industry.

The fact that there were so many egregious safety errors already made by this company is unacceptable and I hope that they will be held responsible for them. I feel like it is irresponsible for this production to continue until all of the investigations of this incident are resolved.I am also wondering why the precautions listed in the union's response aren't common practice. Things like complying with all deposit requirements of the Low Budget Agreement, providing proof of all required insurance and having a set medic and safety officer on location seem like common sense and it shouldn't take a death to make the union start checking these things out.
