Studio is a Hit

Carnegie Mellon University | CMU: Carnegie Mellon University's School of Music is already known for producing outstanding musicians, vocalists and composers. But it has a hidden jewel in the basement of the College of Fine Arts building. That treasure is a recording studio where artists are flocking to produce their work and students of all disciplines are getting invaluable real-world experience they can apply to any field.

I never even knew that such a place existed within Carnegie Mellon. It's very cool that we have that kind of "real-world experience" available, and I will definitely look more into it and maybe take a class if possible. Clearly, there's a bit more that goes into sound recording than just turning on a mic and going for it. I would be curious to see how mixing for a studio recording might differ (or not) from mixing for a show. It's also pretty neat to know that a lot of the students don't major in things that have a whole lot to do with sound recording.
