Dallas Theater Center Raises $13.2M
Stage Directions: Dallas Theater Center has successfully completed their “Bringing the Wyly” to life fundraising campaign having raised $13.2 million since starting the campaign in 2009, $1.2 million above their goal. The campaign was lead by DTC Board of Trustees Chair Rebecca Fletcher and the money will support a new strategic plan for the theater, which focused on building new and diverse audiences; engaging the North Texas community in outstanding artistic, educational and outreach programming; raising the organization’s profile; and ensuring the institution’s long-term financial strength and stability.

I am o glad to see that the DTC ha accomplished their goal. I went to high school right across the street (literally) from the DTC and watched being built through out my high school year then was an intern for them my senior year. I also grew up going to their shows at the old theater that they used to rent, So I've definitely seen this theater grow into something magnificent. The space that they build- The Wyly- Is a great space that allows you to do numerous things in, however it does require a ton more money for up keep and to really use it to its full potential. I am looking forward to see how this theater continues to grow over the next coming years, and when ever i get the chance to return to dallas I will definitely be seeing a show there!
