Broadway League Releases 2011-2012 Demographics Report

Stage Directions: The Broadway League released their 15th-annual demographics report today. The League’s Demographics of the Broadway Audience 2011-2012 report analyzes the latest Broadway audience, compares it to results from previous surveys and tries to predict future trends from the data, which it gathers from audience questionnaires it distributed throughout the 2011-2012 seasons. Key findings include: tourists accounted for 63.4% of all tickets bought (up from 61.7% in the 2010-2011 season) and online purchases increased to 47% of sales as the Internet continued to be the most popular way to buy tickets. More info about the survey and instructions to order a complete copy of the report after the jump.
