Review: Rockin' 'Quartet' relays the music you know, the stories you didn't

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: An evening with the "Million Dollar Quartet" is an exuberant lesson in music history. The stars are Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis, but the story belongs to Sam Phillips, owner of Sun Studio in Memphis, who gave each of them their big break. The show is based on the first and last studio session in which all four performers gathered together, on Dec. 4, 1956. We visit their resentments and friendships, their common backgrounds and appreciation for the talent and vision of Phillips, who made stars out of these dirt poor young men.
