Black Ensemble Theatre opens its gleaming new doors with a reprise of The Jackie Wilson Story
chicagotribune.com: It was a telling moment: The splendiferous new $19 million home of Taylor's Black Ensemble Theater — a minor miracle, given the punishing economic climate — was indeed open for business at 4450 N. Clark St. As a clearly delighted Warwick, a special celebrity guest but also a design consultant for the theater's public spaces, would say a few moments later from the stage: "Jackie, you're not in the basement on Beacon Street anymore."
