I have to say that things like this really make me smile. Since my father was a Marine I have a great respect for those serving and of course those who have served. I have never been the biggest fan of poetry, not ever really getting it. But the works that have always touched me have been those pieces written for or written by soldiers. My father gets "Leatherneck" a magazine for Marines about Marines, and my favorite is that on the last page there is a poem section where family members or soldiers write. I like those types because even if it may not be poetically astounding, they are written from the heart and in a way unite people who are feeling the same thing. I am glad this event will be happening
