I really appreciate this design for spiderman- I think it affectively portrays the goal of this comic book turned film turned musical idea- an accentuation of "larger than life" angles and a dramatic perspective. The mostly black and white color scheme could have it's bonuses but also minuses, I would be more excited if there were a variety of hues and colors throughout the layouts. Even so- I still admire the linear, city, edgy "pop-up book"-esq designs, maybe that would create even more attention and drama- but instead towards the actors.
I always love looking at designer's models for their designs. I think it's fascinating to see how accurate a designer can portray their design in scale before the design is actually realized. I think it's awesome that this model is fully functional, as can be seen by the second picture, with all of the paper pieces moving as the actual pieces are designed to. I can imagine how useful this model would be to both the shops building the pieces and to the actors and director in the rehearsal studio.
