The Mezzo-Soprano Rosalind Elias in ‘Follies’ on Broadway

NYTimes.com: The ageless mezzo-soprano Rosalind Elias had never heard a note of Stephen Sondheim’s score for “Follies” when her agent first approached her about auditioning for the small, poignant role of Heidi Schiller, which she is now playing to acclaim in the popular revival at the Marquis Theater on Broadway.

This is an absolutely lovely article. It gives me such warmth to know that this women felt her career to be at an end and "pop!", a role appears, reviving her love for what she does. This is the magic if theatre at its finest. It is that much sweeter because she had never performed on the Broadway stage before! It goes to show you are never to old for you childhood dreams to come true and you never know what excitement may be waiting for you around the next corner.

I really love this story. It's about trying new things--branching into new areas. At her "stage" to try something new is really inspiring. And audiences are loving it. Life's too short to "stay in the same place." Trying something new leads to so many things, why wouldn't we try new things?

The song "One More Kiss" is one of my favorites in the show. It is absolutely heartbreaking. Rosalind Elias does a fantastic job.
