Video: “Magic, Memories, and You!” show premieres projected onto Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World’s Magic KIngdom

Inside the Magic: "Tonight at a special media-only event, Disney premiered their new “Magic, Memories, and You!” show on Cinderella Castle. That’s right, it takes place ON the castle. That is, the entire show is projected onto the castle’s surface.

I've seen this effect done on other buildings (though usually more rectangular and a cleaner slate for the projections), but it's beautifully done on the Castle. The integration of Photopass pictures from the day is a nice touch, too, though I hope the families featured know that they will be - it would be a magical experience for a kid to see themselves projected up on the Castle at the end of a day in the park.

I think this is the most perfect addition to Disney World. It's magical. I watched that whole 10:40min video and loved the show. They did very creative things with the projections. However, I agree with the author of the article that the photos of the families are the weakest point of the project. You can't see most of the photos and they are pretty quick. I also have reason to believe that some or all of those are not in fact from that day. A lot of them were strange for the park to have obtained, like the one of the child running toward the camera. I doubt a child ran toward an employee with a camera, and I doubt a visitor gave their personal camera to the park to use the footage. The clip of the girl blowing out a candle on a cupcake and the projection mimicked the flame blowing out, was previously edited. I don't know how they could re-edit the show everyday incorporating photos from the day that they somehow obtain. If someone was in fact featured in the show, they probably wouldn't be able to tell. I think that it's nice with the animation and clips of Walt Disney and other Disney footage, but these random photos that are too small and quick, kind of ruin the magic. I liked some clips of the kids, but the ones I liked didn't look candid, they looked like disney had a shoot to get some footage they could edit. But they looked nice.

I love this addition to the park.
