No love lost for Lloyd Webber's Phantom sequel Love Never Dies
The Australian: "OPENING night is still four days away but Andrew Lloyd Webber's sequel to The Phantom of the Opera is already threatening to stake an unwanted claim to theatre history."

Ok in a way I think that all the criticism on pricipal alone is a little unfair. But what did they expect creating a sequel to one of the most popular musicals ever. The article made mention of it themselves that the only musicals people would probably feel this possesive of were Phantom and Les Mis. Personally I do not feel that there should have been a sequel constructed because, I am not the biggest fan of sequels to begin with. I feel that it usually takes away from the original and is a cheap trick to try and make more money off of the franchise. But as for 'Love Never Dies' I hope that they develop a fan base of their own, and audiences can put away their petty distrust of it long enough to actually judge the quality of the show itself, instead of just trying to pick it apart.
