Movies No Longer Making A Powerful Impact On Fashion

Jezebel: "'Fashion and film used to feed off each other.' So says Eugenia Paulicelli, curator of the exhibit Fashion + Film: The 1960s Revisited (which opens at the CUNY Graduate Center next week) in today's New York Times. So what happened?"

I think it's interesting that the shift in fashion has moved away from movies. Even the articles in fashion magazines inspired by movies were based off of movies from the past (with the exception of Avatar). I think that this might be because the age of Hollywood glamour was gone a long time ago, and now society looks in other directions, such as music (Lady Gaga) for inspiration. TV might also be an influence because it is much more present in everyday life, since it is viewable at home, on the internet, etc and fits in with the modern lifestyle more.
