I saw this show when I was a kid, and I enjoyed it a lot then, so I would love to see it again now that I would probably get a little more of the humor. It's nice to read a story about someone who went through several hardships and is still able to pull through and continue working. It's especially inspiring that she was able to overcome such a bad physical injury; an injury like that can usually be pretty damning.
