Los Angeles Times: "The two biggest companies in live concerts might be getting together, and the Boss -- and concert fans -- are not happy.
Ticketmaster Entertainment Inc., which controls ticketing at major venues across the country, and artist manager Live Nation Worldwide Inc. are in talks to merge, according to a person close to the negotiations."

This sounds like a terrible idea. A merger between Ticketmaster, which basically holds the monopoly on all major ticketing, and Live Nation, which holds the monopoly on most major venues sounds like a terrible ultra monopoly. This would make it even harder for independent theaters and companies to market themselves outside of the "main stream" commercial companies. Both have been steadily taking over smaller ventures for years now -- just scares the ba-jesus out of me.
