Harry Potter stuntman to learn extent of injuries

Telegraph: "David Holmes injured his back when he fell while rehearsing for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, in which he was a stunt double for Daniel Radcliffe.
Holmes, 25, fell while practising for a flying scene in which he wore a harness. It is thought he was sent crashing to the ground by a controlled explosion while filming at Leavesden studios near Watford, Herts."

Do stunt people not count as cast or were two people injured? It would be good to know more about the situation surrounding the accident.

I agree with Ethan--what exactly caused this accident? Did the harness fail? Was it human error? The technical details are pretty lacking.

Fail. I completely understand that accidents happen, and that there will be things that go wrong. But there is so little information surrounding this incident, it makes me think that a error was made that could have been prevented. Especially when you are flying and using pyrotechnics, it is extremely important to examine all possibilities, even the ones that seem highly unlikely.

What. This doesn't seem like news. Yes it is bad that people are getting injured and everybody in the entertainment industry MUST be careful of their actions and the consequences. This just goes to show that there should be more people paying attention to safety. Safety before art everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

When something is as non-specific as this is, there is usually some sort of cover-up in effect. While accidents are indeed, what their title implies, with something as dangerous as the effects used in this production, there is simply no room for accidents.
