Stage Review: Squonk Opera blasts off with 'Astro-Rama'
PostGazette: "Squonk Opera is largely indescribable, not just a Pittsburgh original (though they are very Pittsburgh), but an American, terrestrial and perhaps galaxy original, as well. Better than trying to figure out 'Astro-Rama' from my attempt at description, just go see it, free, outdoors in Schenley Plaza, tonight or tomorrow."

This is a pretty good depiction of Squonk, especially in the sense that it is completely indescribable- you have to see it to understand it. Still, it packs something for everyone, between star trek references and confetti inspired dance party. Definitely worth the 70 minutes and the zero dollars.
I passed this during the day several times. I got to catch a little bit of a sound check and it really sounded awesome. Previous to that I had seen some of the PR they were doing to promote the show by planting "crashed UFOs" on Forbes. Pretty cool stuff.
