Hairspray's Closing: Run And Tell That!
Steve On Broadway (SOB): "The Tony Award-winning Best Musical of 2003 -- Hairspray -- will close on January 4, 2009. But it won't be before the show's original Edna Turnblad enjoys one final victory romp across the boards of the Neil Simon Theatre."

I am sad to see Hairspray close but it exciting to know that Harvey is going back for one last run at the show. He is one of the reasons I love Hairspray so much.
Oh so sad. Hairspray has been this weird important musical to my close high school friends and I. Our friend Michelle was on as Tracy for a while right out of school, and we were all so proud of her. We got to see her opening night, and since then have made friends with various cast members, watched them come and go, and finally said good bye to Michelle in that show too. There are some wonderful people connected with Hairspray, and I wish them all the best!
