'Dracula' a mix of artistic disciplines
ReviewJournal.com: "This weekend, Southern Nevadans who aren't familiar with a granddaddy of the gothic horror canon -- or who would be intrigued by seeing the novel metamorphose into a new, possibly unfamiliar artistic form -- can pre-celebrate Halloween by watching a 15-member orchestra and more than 20 professional performers present 'Dracula -- A New Musical' at the College of Southern Nevada's Nicholas J. Horn Theatre."

This sounds really cool to have a low-key reading/dancing/orchestrated shindig with a bunch of folks who have a really high degree of talent from the Strip. I think it would be a great contrast for native Nevadans to take a look at this compared with the super-glitz that seems to dominate their area. I think that if they rely a lot on audience imagination with Dracula they will have to really work hard to get the subtext above the supernatural element.
This sounds like a great combination of disciplines. Pushing boundaries like this is what makes for great new forms of art, theatre and performance in general. In our Critical Histories class we discussed the possibility of having a CFA wide playground, I think this article is a great example of the great products that could come from the blending of great disciplines artists and performers.
