Writers strike settlement would save Oscars, May sweeps
Cleveland.com: "A Hollywood screenwriter couldn't have concocted a more dramatic conclusion to the three-month-old writers strike. A tentative settlement was reached two weeks before the 80th annual Academy Awards, just in time to save the Oscar bash. If all stick to the script, and they should, striking writers could be back at work Monday morning. Plans go forward for the Oscars. Hollywood types start doing lunch again. Happy ending, all around."

I find it noteworthy that the author of the article wants to point out that the 2008-2009 television season was in danger of being consumed by reality television for 10 months, but he doesn't point out the possibility of a flexible Studio system. It's a slim chance, but what would happen if the television industry had to adjust its traditional dates to accommodate the Strike? Sure the TV season looks to be scheduled to keep the masses happy in their Winter prisons, but I think the test in flexibility would have been an interesting process to go through especially since we are so used to the shit hitting the fan in so many other ways in entertainment.
