Wired Campus: Shakespeare Goes Digital Again

Chronicle.com: "Michael Witmore, an associate professor of English at Carnegie Mellon University, announced the launch of Shakespeare’s Global Globe on Saturday. The site is a map that indicates the locations of self-reported Shakespeare readers across the globe."

This is kind of cool, but perhaps I'm missing the point? Are people able to have discussions about the plays? What knowledge does this provide, other than where else in the world are people that have been to this website and decided to submit that they are reading a play by shakespeare? I suppose the creator is correct in that it could be used to track geographical reading habits, but only of those people that choose to submit what they're reading. Interesting, but somewhat useless at this stage....
