Tallying points after the strike

Hollywood Reporter: "WGA leaders seemed inclined to declare victory and move on, but figuring winners and losers in the aftermath of the writers' tentative contract deal is a complex calculation."

I feel like nobody actually won at this strike. the producers have learned that the writers are just too essential for the process and they have just about the same rights as the distributors. the writers went strike for three months with no paychecks and almost made the SAG to go on the strike. all it really matters now is that it's all resolved and hope to pick everything where things were left off three months ago.

It's really great that the strike is over, though I'm not sure I agree that they would never have been able to negotiate without striking. It does, however, sound like producers and writers alike will take future strikes more seriously in view of the many problems and headaches associated with this strike.

It is nice to see this strike finally over, but with a strike this long there are always going to be huge losers. Hopefully the writers have gained enough to catch up their loses and receive what they deserve, but also hopefully the producers wont be taking such a huge hit as to hurt the television media.
