Sunday in the Park With George

New York Times: "This directive is issued by the painter Seurat, played by Daniel Evans in the glorious revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s “Sunday in the Park With George,” which opened Thursday night at Studio 54. And even if George’s mother, to whom he is ostensibly speaking, pays him no mind, we certainly do."

I've heard a lot of hype about this production from a lot of people. It's one of those shows that I've always tried to catch but never really get around to. It looks like a great production from the pictures and I have yet to read a bad review about it.

It's not my favorite, but it's definitely some people's favorite lists. I felt like this show involves much scenery aspects in relations to the action of the play. But I guess it can be described as definitely some Sondheim-esque elements in the show. But I hope this production do well artistically and with box office!

"looking is the art by which all people shape their lives."

I guess that's a pretty interesting way to sum up our criticism towards art these days. It seems strange to have 21st century technology shape the attributes of a world in the 19th century. To me, all you are doing is creating effects that will appear out of context with the entire setting. Distracting you might say. I trust the critics on this one however, I believe it's a decent show.
