Strike Update: Actors Guild Marching to Start Talks Next Month
Hollywood Today: "The actors are taking the stage now that the writers strike appears to be over come Monday (see related HT stories). The Screen Actor’s Guild is maneuvering to move up negotiations on a new contract with the AMPTP in order to get to the bargaining table ahead of AFTRA, as a result of the expected break-up of the longtime partnership between the two primary acting unions, according to sources. If AFTRA, considered more moderate than SAG, makes a deal first, it will set a precedent and could make it difficult for SAG to achieve its more ambitious goals under the activist leadership of Alan Rosenberg."
