Stage Review: Hare's political 'Vertical Hour' sure to spark great debates
Post Gazette: "But people do talk like that. As I said -- it's a play about people, not about their ideas. No one is perfect. Hare wants you to be irritated, to get you involved in the debate. I know you liked 'Stuff Happens' better than I did. Do you feel bad about not liking 'Vertical Hour' better?"

I like the idea of such blatently political theatre, because I think it is important to make people angry, to get them thinking about politics. I think theatre is the perfect way to approach political debate because it gives so many people an outlet for political discussion and the creation of new ideas. I also feel like the war is one of those issues that kind of went away after a while, like people accepted that it wasn't going to change, so we might as well stop worrying about it. I'm not surprised that with the nearing election there is an increased interest in inspiring debate. I think it's important right now for Americans to get their priorities straight and figure out what they want.
