Stage Preview: Harlem theater performs here

But, based in Harlem, where it grew out of artistic director Alfred Preisser's work at the Harlem School of the Arts, it has a largely African-American audience and also tackles the great black playwrights -- Douglas Turner Ward, Adrienne Kennedy, August Wilson -- and what Preisser calls, 'great plays, not just great black plays.'"
