This sounds like a really fun project, although it seems a little bit unoriginal to set RandJ in New York. I feel like RandJ is one of those pieces that is constantly retold in a modern setting, and I think you have to have a really good reason to do so now especially, because otheriwse it just becomes redundant and gimmicky. But this sounds like avery honest production with great intentions, and I would definitely go and see it.
I totally agree with Corinna. Romeo and Juliet has been retold modernly so many times that you need a real reason to redo it. I feel like the director lacked a compelling reason to reset the play in 2008 in Queens, but it's hard to tell without actually seeing the adaptation.
