I don't know about this. Its seems like this is almost just for the hell of it. It would be cooler if they did something besides just light up the clouds, but maybe it will be more effective in actual life. The mock ups looked pretty lame.
Well that's really feekin' cool. I want a giant green laser that tracks clouds, for what reason? I dont know. The message behind it is also great, but really, it's all about the green laser of doom and smog.
I hate to say it, but I agree with Chase. Gigantic green lasers that light up the sky are pretty much always good with me. It's a pretty interesting way to deal with pollution too.
This is an interesting application of laser projection technology. I think it would be cooler if they did it with an rgb laser, but that's probably cost prohibitive. I'd like to see what they project, if they can project outlines they can project other vectors too. I saw yesterday that someone had written something in the snow on the slab in the gates center, and had a thought that it would definately be cool to take a co2 or other powerful laser and scan an image into the snow.
