SAG Snares Web's 'Quarterlife'

Backstage: "The Screen Actors Guild will officially cover Quarterlife, an upcoming web-only series from Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick (Thirtysomething, My So-Called Life), the Guild announced today. The series, set to debut Nov. 11 on MySpaceTV.com, will be produced under SAG's Internet Online Agreement."

I don't think that its a good idea to transform the internet into a part of the mainstream media circus. Relative absence of corporate as well as government control is part of what makes the internet so wonderful. The argument has been made for the internet as the "town cryer". I think it is sad to demolish that.
