How Makita MAKTRAK is Revolutionizing Modular Storage
Pro Tool Reviews: We’re teaming up with Makita to take a deep dive into what sets the MAKTRAK modular storage system apart from the competition. I had the opportunity to chat with Austin Donoghue, who is the Product Manager for MAKTRAK, to learn why this platform is designed the way it is and how it makes a difference in the way you work.

This storage system is simply jaw dropping. While most systems are built "from the ground up" for a specific purpose, they usually don't feel like they were actually built with that purpose in mind. Reading about the Makita MAKTRAK system though, I feel like they were really committed to making a really good storage system that was intended to be stored in the back of pickup trucks. The system for loading and unloading it seems genius, and I would really like to see it in action and find out how well it really works. From the picture, it looks like it might catch on the gap between the tailgate and the actual bed of the truck. I also like the latch design, as it seems like they actually asked what made good and bad latches, and then designed in order to solve those specific problems. I particularly like how they made it so the big boxes can be opened from both sides. It is a small thing, but I feel like it has such a big impact.
