The Best Art of 2024, According to Art World Insiders

Artsy: Art is an experience—which means that retrospection is inevitable. Traveling back in time to recollect the moments that have shaped an art appetite, and sharing them with peers, is one of the pleasures of belonging to a thought-provoking and unpredictable industry. In the art world, of course, distances matter little. Artists, curators, collectors, and museum directors trot continent after continent in search of the next show.

I love being exposed to these types of articles, since I’m not one to source out what’s currently trending in the world, but I am always fascinated by what is. It’s really interesting to see who and what people are saying about the art community right now, especially in such a pivotal time in art. I’m interested though, in why those people’s opinions were chosen for this article. I wouldn’t value an art collector’s opinion that much, maybe I just don’t understand what an art collector is, but I feel as though it’s solely based on what they like. Besides the point, the art introduced in the article was really fascinating, and I saw a lot of manipulation of light within the art pieces. At one point, I looked at a piece and said “okay environment project!” Art is becoming more theatrical, which I love, and I’m excited to see what other elements are incorporated in art.
