LG turns visitor faces into pop art on kinetic LED at ISE LG adds AI-powered image transformation to kinetic LED

www.avinteractive.com: LG has added an AI-power image transformation experience to its stand at ISE 2025. After visitors to LG’s booth have taken a photo with their smartphone and uploaded it via scanning a QR code, their picture is transformed by LG’s generative AI into a pop art-style image, which is then displayed on Kinetic LED.

This is cool! It would be inconceivable for a human artist to draw thousands of pop art versions faces from submitted photos instantaneously to be displayed on an LED screen in a matter of seconds. Since this scale and time is inconceivable for a human does that make it okay to use AI work arounds? I can’t help but think of social media filters. The fun filters you use to have a puppy dog face on a snapchat photo are also created using algorithms that track your face to overlay the filter on, sometimes changing based on your moments. No one is expecting a programmer to be sitting at a desk somewhere playing “pin the filter on the face”. Can these AI image generating tools serve as a tool for artists to create real time interactive art pieces? The Artists create the mechanics of the installation, maybe even training the AI on their own style, but then allowing the AI to carry the weight of generating image after images as audiences move through the piece.
