All of my friends know I'm obsessed with cirque de soleil. The spectacle they work to achieve is always incredibly ambitious and executed beautifully. I'm a huge fan of a good ostentatious spectacle, it makes me feel like I'm in some royal monarchs' court 400 years ago watching a massive performance that was definitely very financially irresponsible to impress the visiting ambassador from another country. I want to see the KÀ show so badly, I have heard fantastic things about the set. I know the engineering that went into getting everything up and running properly would have been a MASSIVE effort, but it also sounds incredibly fun. The 360 degree rotating stage platform? Don't even talk to me about it. It is so MUCH. It borders on ridiculous. Its perfect for Vegas and I love it. Its funny actually, in my film class we were just discussing different theories and forms of set design and one of them was 'embellishment', which quote, 'makes you say wow at the cost of being really expensive'. I feel like that applies ehre.
