In CTM’s ‘Cinderella,’ design magic takes center stage

Entertainment | captimes.com: Costume designer Aly Renee Amidei knows that the world could use a little bit of magic right now. She’s bringing color, sequins, glitter and joy to Children's Theater of Madison’s upcoming production of “Cinderella,” opening on Valentine’s Day in the Capitol Theater.

I worked on a lighting design for a production of Cinderella a while back and honestly the tech work this theatre company is doing looks gorgeous. The beading on the dresses is just fantastic, it must have taken so much time to do. Even the horse tails look really interesting, I wonder how they had to be built in order to give them that much volume because it looks like fake hair which I would expect to sag a lot more on its own. Similarly the paint treatment on both the chandelier and the clock is very well done. I would be really interested to see fully executed production photos as the tech designers for this theatre have done an excellent job just based off of these progress photos alone. This show holds a special place in my heart, I would love the opportunity to see the show if I were given the chance.
