I had totally forgotten about this dispute. There was an article on the subject a few weeks ago, but I didn't think anything would really come of it. I'm glad that Caillat and Adjmi were able to come to an agreement, though I have to say I'm surprised it didn't move forward into court. At the very least, I certainly would've been interested to see the verdict had it moved forward; it probably would've made the story a lot bigger and set a precedent for future cases. Like this article says, there are a lot of legal questions surrounding this case. As many others have said, Adjmi's play seems like an obtusely direct ripoff of Fleetwood Mac's album and Caillat's book. If I remember correctly, the older article claimed that this wasn't the first time Adjmi has had this sort of trouble in producing a play. I'm very curious about the terms of their agreement, but I doubt the details will ever be made public.
