Lisa Kudrow Says Tom Hanks' Movie 'Here' Is an 'Endorsement of AI'

www.rollingstone.com: Lisa Kudrow condemned Robert Zemeckis’ Here, a film that uses digital aging technology, in a recent episode of the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard. Kudrow references Zemeckis’ film, which reunites Forrest Gump stars Tom Hanks and Robin Wright, and calls the time-jumping film “an endorsement for AI.”

I agree with Kudrow's perspective and I am glad to see her stand up for it. I hate to see AI playing such a large role in creative endeavors and taking the place of human jobs. What they achieved in this movie through AI is certainly something that could've been done either with younger human actors, or editing by a person. There's no need to use AI to do something humans have easily been doing for decades in filmmaking. Hanks tried to defend the director/movie by saying that there has always been pushback and new technology and that this is no different. But I disagree. A lot of that technology has made improvements and certainly made many jobs easier, but hasn't literally replaced actors in a film. AI is too powerful and fake. We need to preserve genuine art as well as our jobs, before it's too late.
