YouTuber Measures Dim Brightness of 'House of the Dragon'
www.businessinsider.com: HBO's "Game of Thrones" prequel, "House of the Dragon," was met with criticism for its seventh episode last week from viewers who thought certain scenes were too dimly lit. Some fans took to Twitter to complain they couldn't see what was happening.

It doesn't surprise me the slightest that House of Dragon is so dim. Lately I feel like all tv shows have been insanely dark where you have to have the entire room be dark to be able to see the screen. It is very interesting that the show was shot to be lighter and then was darkened in post production as that seems like it was a design choice. I will say something really frustrating is the cinematographer blaming audiences for not adjusting their tv settings since no one is going to pause the show in the middle to adjust the brightness of the tv and then pause it again once the dark scene has passed. Also in the age of streaming most people are not watching tv shows on their tv rather opting for their computer or their ipad which show runners have to be able to adjust to not blame viewers for not being able to see. I think shows should adjust to a certain level because the design choice is not even worth it if no one can see your show.
