Branson Tri-Lakes News Entertainment: The Branson entertainment scene will be buzzing Sunday night as the 3rd annual Terry Music Awards will be held Sunday night the Jim Stafford Theatre. The ceremony is set to be hosted by entertainer Chuck Hancock and Branson favorite Barbara Fairchild.
The “Terry Awards” are the brainchild of Terry Beene, a Texas native and musician, who conceived the idea for the awards while working for a radio station in Fort Worth, Texas. Beene said after he discussed the Tony Awards on air, he jokingly announced he was going to be hosting the Terry Awards.

This article was interesting to me because I first thought the article was about the Terry Awards, which I know nothing about. The article is more a mashup of a few articles. The article has a little snippet that says “The “Terry Awards” are the brainchild of Terry Beene, a Texas native and musician, who conceived the idea for the awards while working for a radio station in Fort Worth, Texas. Beene said after he discussed the Tony Awards on air, he jokingly announced he was going to be hosting the Terry Awards.” This doesn’t really give that much information, the most I can gather from the article was is that the Terry Awards is hosted in Branson, MO and celebrates the music and musicians of onstage jukebox shows. This seems oddly specific, and I’m a little confused why these awards even exist. Even though they were originally a joke the awards have grown into something more serious.
