Stage preview: 'The Night Alive' dawns at City Theatre

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: City Theatre opens its 41st season, the 15th with artistic director Tracy Brigden leading the way, with “The Night Alive” by the great Irish playwright Conor McPherson.

It fits into City’s mission as a play that’s been around no more than five years, and in so many ways, it is indicative of Ms. Brigden’s choices these past 15 years.

“People often ask, ‘How do you pick the plays?’ ” said Ms. Brigden, who also will direct “The Night Alive.”
