LEEA Backs Rigging Engineering Program into the Future

www.iti.com: Hoverboards, flying cars, and self-lacing shoes have not quite hit the mainstream yet, but we are using drones to help report the news! Another staple of 1989’s Back to the Future II, large screen real-time video conferencing, is another one the film’s producers got right. A version of that technology (lecture recording software), is one of the key driving factors that made ITI’s Fundamentals of Rigging Engineering Program possible.

I feel like rigging school is like most other types of school. The information might absorb better if you get some hand’s on experience and the ability to actually talk to a professor. The thing about rigging though is that if you mess up, people can get hurt and die. I’m not saying that this experience wouldn't be good for those who want to pursue rigging as a career path, but it by no means substitutes hands on experience and lessons from people who know their stuff. It’s part of why the freshmen take a hands on basic rigging class with Sean West, that experience is more impactful than reading a textbook or watching movies. We get the experience in a manor that allows us to ask questions, get feedback, and correct any minor misunderstandings in the lecture that might add up to us making a huge mistake down the road. Cute pitch though.
