TribLIVE: There have been a lot of movies shot in Pittsburgh, and a few TV shows. “The Chair†is unusual in that it's both.
It's a TV show and a movie — actually, two movies. It's a documentary-style reality-TV show about the making of two separate films, with different crews, working from the same script, with the same budget ($800,000), the same time frame (20 days) and same resources.

I'm really interested to see how this project turns out. It seems like such an interesting concept to me, to observe not only the vastly different ways that two people might approach a script, but also the behind the scenes of the movie industry in general. At the same time, I wonder what, if any, the similarities in the two films are, and what it will be like for audiences to experience the same story twice, even from distinctly different approaches.
