Stage Directions: Team Leap Day was the winner of this year’s Rose Brand / USITT Action Design Competition at USITT Expo. Team Leap Day consisted of: Costume Designer, Jodie Daniels, University of Houston; Lighting Designer, Amanda Warren, Stephen F Austin State University; Scenic Designer, Rachel Bennick, The University of Texas at Austin; Technical Director, Hillary Collazo Abbot, Ohio Northern University. In a contest first, the students also won all the individual prizes for top scenic, costume, lighting designers as well as TD.

This competition reminds me of the sophomore projects. For instance, the sophomore class was required to created an environment for hamlet with a similar style of collaboration. It also reminds me of the arcade project. Needless to say, the design is stunning and does not go unnoticed.
