YaleNews: Yale Schools of Music and Drama — in one of the largest collaborations ever between the schools — will stage Igor Stravinsky’s “The Soldier’s Tale (L’Histoire du Soldat)” in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War I.
The fully staged original production and new translation of Stravinsky’s darkly comic work will bring together School of Music faculty and student musicians with School of Drama faculty, student, and alumni designers, actors, and technicians.

I'm excited for the project that the Yale School of Music and Drama have decided to undertake. The project must be exciting for the current students of Yale because they are granted an opportunity, in which, they will work side-by-side with Tony award-winning alumni. On another note, I wonder why the school has chosen to take on the stories of World War I. Although the article intrigued much of my interest about the project, I'm interested in why they have decided to tell this dark tale about a solider in the first world war. How will this story relate to current events?
