'Tribes' is nuanced look at family talk

TribLIVE: It's not easy to warm up to the family depicted in “Tribes,” Nina Raine's drama at City Theatre.
For the most part, they're a self-impressed brood of self-proclaimed artists who craft put-downs and criticism with the skill and enthusiasm that others reserve for writing novels or singing arias.

I really love the concept of this play. I think that shows that take very honest looks at family dynamics can often be the most hard hitting. I also like that hey are going to use sign language in the play. I think that it goes well with the theme of communication. I'm really interested in the use of media in this play as well. The added interludes sound interesting and I wonder how they effect the transitions in the play.
