Janie Bryant 10 Questions - Mad Men Costume Designer Janie Bryant

ELLE: “I’m working on three collections right now that I have named The Glamour Trifecta—legwear, lingerie, and the perfect dress,” said Janie Bryant, the costume designer for AMC’s beloved small-screen hit, Mad Men. Not only did Bryant help outfit the star-studded cast in glamorous 1960s looks, but she also worked alongside Banana Republic on three collections inspired by the series. Currently, she's developing a reality fashion competition show, titled Janie Bryant’s Hollywood, with E.J. Johnston and James Deutch, the co-creators of NBC's Fashion Star. And this time she will actually get in front of the cameras.

I find this article really interesting, because it's not about this artist's success or strategies or personal philosophies--It's truly just about getting to know her as a person. I particularly liked what she had to say about appreciation. This is something I try to incorporate into my day-to-day routine frequently.

Google doodles are so awesome. Aside from being really fun and interesting, they're a great way to spread a little bit of history. Edith's Head's background story was really interesting from what they included in this article, I'd really like to learn more now. The story of how she got her start is so crazy! She may have never made it into Paramount if she hadn't claimed her student's sketches as her own. Which is sort of a moral dilema, but she became one of the most successful costume designers as a result, it just took a little fudging to make it through that first step.
