Mrs. Delphia sounds like she has it all together. I knew that there are sections of fine art that deal with design of material objects, but I didn't really think of decorative arts as such a large category. Now that I think about it, I am rather impressed that this woman can name designers of period ceramics. I feel like there are many people who designed things like that who were under appreciated because their bowl isn't as recognizable as the Mona Lisa. But decorative arts sounds even more fascinating in some aspects because as Rachel said, those artists make things that mark people's everyday lives, and if you can create art that serves a functional purpose and holds sentimental value, more power to you.
