Can Las Vegas Save 'Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark'?
Forbes: “Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark will be ending its historic Broadway run on January 4, 2014,” said a spokesperson. “We are excited to report that the next destination for Spider-Man will be the entertainment capital of the world: Las Vegas. Further details will be announced in the weeks to come.”

Sadly, I don't think I will. While I think Vegas has the audience something like this needs, I don't think it will be enough to save the show. The big thing about the show up until this point has been the fact that it has had a lot of accidents and that pulled a lot of audience members. With it moving to Vegas, the first few weeks will see a increase of ticket sales, but after the novelty of the show wears off, I think ticket sales will drop once again. I wish all the best for the show and I would love nothin more than to see it succeed in Vegas, but I foresee a lot of obstacles before it becomes a success.
Talk about too big to fail.. I suppose the backers of Spiderman are in too deep now to cut and run. That being said, I would imagine Las Vegas audiences would be more receptive to the technical spectacle that is Spiderman. Combined with the reduced operating cost, I suppose it is possible that Spiderman might turn a profit while running in Las Vegas. However, the upfront cost of remounting the show in another city seems daunting. I will be interested to see where the Spiderman saga goes next..
